Michigan Engineering is a place for a special kind of engineer – someone who wants to make a difference. Throughout a student’s experience at Michigan, we want to support student success – in the classroom and outside the classroom. First generation students have unique experiences at Michigan and we encourage students and families to utilize the supports and services offered by the Office of Student Affairs in Engineering.
We invite all incoming first year students and their families to our 2015 EnginFirst Welcome event on Friday, September 4th, 1-3:30p in 1610 IOE Building. This is our opportunity to welcome you to Michigan Engineering and share information about student success in college, learn from a panel with faculty, first generation students and families, and hear about available services and support. Both before and after the presentation, there will be light refreshments provided.
In addition, we encourage Michigan Engineers to get involved with the student organization, First Generation College Students at Michigan. This is a very active organization on campus that celebrates and supports first generation students across the University. To get involved, contact them via email email@example.com to join their mailing list or join their Facebook group: First-Generation College Students @ Michigan.
You are joining a proud legacy and tradition by becoming a Michigan Wolverine and we look forward in helping you succeed! Go Blue!
The Office of Student Affairs is located in 143 Chrysler Center on north campus. You can always visit our office as a first stop in connecting into Michigan Engineering. We’re available by email, firstname.lastname@example.org, and by phone, 734-647-7118.
